What Honor is launching
Honor plans to unveil the Win 2 series in China on October 21 at 2:30 p.m. local time. The event is also expected to include related Win phones, a tablet, a gaming laptop, a controller and earbuds. Honor says Win 2 sales will begin that day.
Preorders are open through Honor’s Chinese online store, with a 100-yuan deposit required for each device. The store lists five memory and storage combinations: 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB.
Pre-launch reports put the 12GB+512GB model at 5,499 yuan after a subsidy. It’s unclear how that figure relates to a reported promotional price of 5,999 yuan or to the regular price. Prices for the other four configurations haven’t been established.
What the subsidy does—and doesn’t—tell us
Official material confirms that China’s 2026 subsidy program covers qualifying smartphones bought by individual consumers when the sale price is no more than 6,000 yuan. The available official text doesn’t consistently establish the precise subsidy rate, the maximum amount per device or the limit per person.
The 5,499-yuan figure therefore isn’t a complete guide to Win 2 pricing. It applies to one reported configuration, while the rest of the price range remains unknown. There also isn’t enough reliable pricing and performance data to show whether Win 2 offers better subsidy-adjusted value than rival gaming phones.
The Chinese program doesn’t establish prices or benefits for buyers elsewhere.
Two fans, with results still to prove
The original Honor Win used one cooling fan. Win 2 has two.
Honor says the new system moves heat away from the main processor and through other parts of the phone. In the company’s laboratory tests, total airflow was 284% higher than with the previous design. Honor also reports temperature reductions of up to 14.4°C across the device and up to 15.5°C at the processor. A rapid-cooling mode can lower the phone’s temperature by 10°C in about 50 seconds, according to the company.
Those are Honor’s measurements. Independent comparisons haven’t yet shown how Win 2 handles prolonged gaming performance, heat and fan noise against the original Win or phones without cooling fans.
Honor is offering six years of unlimited official fan cleaning and maintenance for eligible Win 2 and Win RT2 devices bought and activated by November 22, 2026. Long-term reliability, dust performance and noise remain unknown.
A new chip and a very fast screen
Honor has previewed the Win 2 series with a sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship processor. Pre-launch reporting identifies the Win 2 chip more specifically as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Qualcomm says the chip offers 13% higher processor performance and 44% higher graphics performance than the preceding Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Those figures describe the chip, not Win 2’s actual gaming performance.
Honor has also previewed a 6.89-inch OLED screen with roughly 2K-class resolution and a refresh rate reaching 185Hz. OLED is a display technology in which each pixel produces its own light. Refresh rate describes how often the screen redraws its picture each second; a higher rate can make movement look smoother when the software supports it.
It’s not yet clear which games can use the 185Hz mode, whether it works across ordinary apps or what controls buyers will have for individual apps.
Why the battery reports disagreed
Early reports put Win 2’s battery capacity somewhere between 10,000mAh and 12,070mAh—a difference of 2,070mAh.
Follow-up reporting points to a 10,100mAh battery for Win 2 and assigns the 12,070mAh figure to the separate Win RT2. No final official Win 2 specification sheet was available, so both figures remain pre-launch reports rather than confirmed official specifications.
Even if the 10,100mAh figure is correct, battery capacity alone wouldn’t make Win 2 unique. The original Honor Win had a 10,000mAh battery and a 185Hz OLED display, while the iQOO Z11S is also advertised with a 10,000mAh battery and a fast screen.
The mAh figure measures battery capacity—it’s closer to the size of a fuel tank than a promise of how far the phone will go. Independent endurance tests haven’t yet shown how long Win 2 lasts during gaming or how it compares with its predecessor and current rivals.
Availability remains focused on China for now
Honor’s launch announcement, store reservations and subsidy pricing all concern China. The company hasn’t announced availability elsewhere.
The original Win was sold only in mainland China, but that doesn’t prove Win 2 will stay exclusive to the market. A broader release remains possible; none has been announced in the available reporting.
